I've started magazines and I've re-invigorated existing publications. I've written about home furnishings, hotels, food and beverage, home construction and remodeling. Though the subject matter differs, these magazines share common traits: They are written and edited smartly, they present information clearly, and they are part of a multi-channel communications strategy. Take a look at what I've achieved for publishers and for readers. Currently, I am the editor in chief of BNP Media's Dairy Foods. I run the editorial operations, encompassing a print magazine, web site, blog and social media (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn). I have tightened the editing, redesigned the magazine and introduced new content and authors. I have reached out to readers to contribute Op-Ed essays, jump-started communications with a long-dormant editorial advisory board, spoken at industry gatherings, and gone on the road to interview leading dairy processors. Here's what some co-workers and associates have to say:“Jim excelled at making every retailer he knew feel like they were the most important contributor to the publication. That is what makes him a phenomenal editor!” Kit Bolliger, Owner, Yellow Tulip & Company “Jim was to our company, a true editorial partner, recognizing the newness of our brand, the opportunity which exists for our products. [He] always positioned our company honestly and accurately through Home Décor Buyer. Andrew Joyce (formerly), PTMD USA “Jim is one of the finest editors I have with whom I have ever worked. His ability to anticipate design trends put Home Décor Buyer on the cutting edge of home products publications. He is also a delight to work with and a committed team player.” Anne Holton, (formerly) Eastern Sales Manager, Hoyt Publishing
